TRAINING IN THE USE OF QTVLM NAVIGATION AND ROUTING SOFTWARE
« I don’t know how to use my navigation software »
« I’ve downloaded the software, but it seems very complex »
« I’d like to know how to do routing »
We offer training courses for individuals or groups (clubs, associations, racing centers), either face-to-face or remotely (by videoconference).
Training courses are based on qtVlm software.
During the general training, you’ll learn how to :
- Set up the software interface (menus, instruments, specific pages)
- Use charts, see the differences between Rasters and vectors
- Set your boat’s parameters (find polars, analyze them, modify them, apply coefficients)
- Integrate weather data (find free Gribs files, use servers, know the main models and their data, query weather stations, view meteograms, compare Gribs, etc.)
- Define POI / WP, use them in routes
- Plot routes and analyze their data (rate tables, histograms, statistics)
- Use simulation mode (and AIS data)
- Considere routings and view isochrones
In the specific “routing” training course (knowledge of how to use the software is a prerequisite), you will learn how to:
- Review the basic data useful for routing
- Retrieve weather data
- Create examples of coastal routings
- Create examples of offshore routings
- Routing under constraints
- See the influence of data on routings
- Critique and modify your routings (reverse routing)
- See ‘wider’ (overlay weather maps, satellite images, add Avurnav, sail charts, etc.)
If you’re preparing for a coastal cruise, a race, offshore sailing, or a simple outing in your usual area, these courses are for you.
