PITUFINO gateways are all-in-one modules that let you manage your navigation data from your PC, phone, or tablet => Order form at the bottom of the page…
With it, you can:
- Easily convert data from NMEA0183 or SeaTalk1 devices to NMEA2000, or vice versa
- Multiplex and send data to navigation apps or a chartplotter via Wi-Fi
- Use an alarm repeater for Raymarine or B&G devices or NMEA2000 engine transducers (Pitufino has a loud buzzer and options for connecting an external horn)
- Resolve incompatibilities and other issues (such as GPS date changes) with older devices
- Display all navigation instruments in a clear and accessible way so you can keep an eye on the data from anywhere on the boat
- Display the engine dashboard, fuel levels, battery chargers, or solar panels (connect your Victron devices!), so you have all your boat’s data in one place
- Control your autopilot (adjust the course and switch modes)
- Add a drift-free mode (maintain course) to your autopilot, which is useful in situations with variable currents
- Take advantage of the damping factor for wind and course data on any device or app to obtain stable readings that respond to course changes
- Provide averages that reflect navigation performance and wind trends, thereby creating automatic logbook entries
- Use anchorage monitoring and other useful alarms even when ashore
- Send waypoint data from your navigation software to your autopilot
- Monitor alarms and other boat data (batteries, chargers, temperature, etc.) from home using cloud-based data
- Receive notifications when alarms are triggered
- Automatically populate your logbook
- Take advantage of a selection of dynamic data sources from your NMEA2000/NMEA0183/SeaTalk devices, as well as from all your apps connected to the gateway’s Wi-Fi.
The list is long (and growing all the time)—it’s not over yet…

In addition, these gateways come with applications that run directly in your web browser:

Navigation instruments, anchorage monitoring, alarms …

Instruments with an autopilot controller, displaying waypoints, laylines, AIS targets, etc. …

“Multi-display” to customize the display of relevant information (engine RPM, fuel levels, etc.)

Using the ‘VICTRON’ Inputs to Monitor Power Consumption and Battery Charging
A few additional technical specifications:
- 12 VDC/24 VDC power supply (typically powered by the NMEA2000 bus, LEN=3)
- NMEA2000 port (SeatalkNG)
- 2 NMEA0183 inputs (isolated)
- 2 NMEA0183 outputs
- Optional isolated SeaTalk1 port (with SeaTalk or Pitufino ST module)
- Routing and conversion between these ports and Wi-Fi streams
- Wi-Fi: Provides its own access point (with DHCP) or connects to an existing Wi-Fi network
- mDNS: The gateway can always be found as pitufino.local on iOS, macOS, Linux, and the latest versions of Windows and Android
- NMEA0183 data servers: multiple TCP connections, UDP broadcast, UDP unicast
- Alarm Buzzer (V1.1 and later)
- Optional relay output for external alarm buzzer/siren (with Seatalk or Pitufino ST module)
- Repeater (or external alarm) for alarms transmitted over NMEA2000 by Raymarine devices, Navico devices (Simrad, B&G, etc.), and engine sensors.
- Internal alarms for depth, wind, anchor hold, proximity to an AIS target, arrival at a waypoint, waypoint confirmation by the pilot, deviation from course, etc.
- Web server (for local intranet): enables browser-based configuration, firmware updates, and web pages (web apps) for viewing real-time navigation data (navigation instruments, anchorage monitoring, autopilot controller, list of AIS targets, logbook, engine and fuel gauge readings, etc.).
- The pilot controller adds the hold-COG feature
- The pilot controller adds hold-COG mode (drift-free mode) to all supported pilots.
- Built-in global magnetic model: up-to-date magnetic variation
- Calculates true wind relative to the ground and provides wind and COG/SOG data with appropriate smoothing to TCP/UDP streams and to NMEA2000 for other displays. COG and AWA track the course without any delay.
- Calculates 1-minute, 10-minute, and 60-minute averages for TWD, TWS, COG, SOG, and VMC
- Creates hourly entries in the logbook with averages and other statistics.
- Calculates data for active waypoints for chartplotter applications that cannot send data back to the network (e.g., Navionics Boating) or handles the calculation of waypoint data after the chartplotter (device or software) that initiated navigation to the active waypoint (“Go To” or “active route”) has been turned off or has become temporarily inaccessible (e.g., poor network connection).
- Phrase Translator: Some devices transmit outdated or unusual phrases. Pitufino translates them into well-supported phrases. The translations currently implemented add support for Robertson/Simrad Dataline and allow Furuno FA-50 AIS transponders (and others that do not send GPS messages) to be used as GPS sources.
- Correction of the GPS date in NMEA0183 entries for older GPS/AIS units affected by the transition to 1,024 weeks.
